Spider Vein Causes

Female legs have had quite an affect on societal evolution. Always considered a sexual object, their appearance has been both avoided and celebrated. In centuries past, it was considered scandalous for a woman to show her legs. Nowadays, however, female legs are encouraged to be shown.

So, when a woman feels uncomfortable with showing her legs because of spider veins, she is no doubt wondering what causes spider veins in the first place. In order to truly understand what causes spider veins, it is important to gain a better understanding of leg circulation.

The heart pumps blood, which in turn circulates throughout the body via networks of veins. What causes spider veins is that pressure has been placed on the veins because of excess weight. In an attempt to force the blood through the veins, the veins end up swelling beyond their capacity, making them visible through the leg.

Sometimes what causes spider veins is not just additional weight placed on the legs, but actual exercise. When women find out that they need to lose weight, some of them start working out too intensely all at once. This places the circulatory system into a frenzy, which in turn causes these kinds of veins.

Also, these kinds of veins can be caused by walking around in heels too much, because those too place an inordinate amount of pressure on the legs. Women who already have these kinds of veins have the option of either choosing medicinal injections, or laser treatments, both of which should be discussed with a dermatologist.
