Radio Design Labs (RDL) has introduced the RU-PA40D 40-watt power amp with voltage-controlled amplifier (VCA), as well as the PM-2T pole mount tray.
According to the company, the RU-PA40D is suited to applications where a high-quality, high-efficiency utility amplifier is necessary to drive a pair of 4-ohm or 8-ohm loudspeakers. The output impedance is switch selectable on the front panel of the module, and the unit is specifically suited to amplification applications where users need to adjust the gain. Examples include projectors or monitors with fixed audio outputs used in classrooms, boardrooms, or video conferencing. The RU-PA40D is also suited to foreground amplification in small-to-medium rooms or in a specific zone within a retail space.
Equipped with an internal stereo VCA for setting the output level on both amplifier channels, the RU-PA40D also comes with a detachable terminal block, which allows connection of an external 10 kohm potentiometer or a 0-10 VDC control voltage. Remote control is possible with the RLC10K and RLC-10R remote controls, or via audio, control, or common computer network wire.
The PM-2T is a tray that mounts above a projector using a standard round projector pole or any smaller round or rectangular pole. The pole-mount tray accommodates any RDL RU, TX, or, STICK-ON audio power amplifier and its associated RDL power supply.
