Polycom's RMX 1000 is a multipoint visual communication conferencing platform for small-to-medium enterprises and branch offices, and the Polycom Converged Management Application for simplifying enterprise video deployment.
The RMX 1000 is a complement to the existing RMX 2000 for larger businesses. Both are based on open standards and enable multipoint video calls across different network environments and between different types of video devices, according to the company. To do so, the RMX 1000 transcodes the various speeds and protocols for an optimal experience to each system based on the capabilities of the systems in a call. Capable of supporting HD video, HD content sharing, and HD audio with Siren 22 Stereo, the RMX 1000 uses AES media encryption to provide secure conferencing. Lost Packet Recovery (LPR) technology minimizes the damaging impact of network congestion and packet loss on the video call experience.
Company officials said Polycom's CMA addresses the growing demand for enterprise video and telepresence communications. It allows customers to deploy, provision, and manage visual communication devices across their organizations, streamlining workflows through centralized management of conferences, devices, and systems, and providing gate-keeping, scheduling, and directory management.
