Fertility Doctors

If you are having problems conceiving and you've been trying for over a year, then, chances are that you are experiencing an infertility problem and may need infertility treatment. Infertility is not just a medical problem, there are psychological and financial stresses that accompany this condition, there are fertility doctors available who can answer all of your questions and address your concerns.

Fertility Doctors

Your first stop should be to schedule an appointment with your gynecologist or an infertility doctor who will work together with you and your mate to come up with a game plan that will make use of available resources to solve the problem as quickly, safely and inexpensively as possible.

What Infertility Is

Whether you are a man or a woman, infertility is diagnosed the same, a disease of the reproductive system that inhibits the ability to conceive and deliver a child.

Infertility is the inability to conceive after one year of trying with unprotected intercourse for couples in which the female is under 35 and six months of trying for couples in which the female is over 35.

Once the cause of infertility has been determined, a plan can be created to fit your unique situation and hopefully lead you in the direction of conceiving a child. In fact, nearly 90% of infertility cases are treatable with medical therapies such as drug treatment, surgical repair of reproductive organs and assisted reproductive techniques such as in vitro fertilization.

Infertility Treatment

After testing is complete, your doctor may suggest a process called in vitro fertilization. In vitro literally means in glass, and it involves the mixing of sperm and egg in the laboratory, outside the human body. After fertilization takes place, the zygote (fertilized egg) is placed in the woman's fallopian tube. Alternatively, it may be allowed to develop further outside the body and then be introduced into the uterus in an effort to establish a pregnancy.

For more information on what fertility options are available to you and your mate you should schedule an appointment with a fertility doctor near you today.
